The Eaton Theatre in Charlotte is currently using 35mm film to show the movies. The dilema the movie theatre and other small theatres face is with the digital film shift with the movies getting more hitech they need to make a choice between going digital or staying traditional and die off. The movie company Fox has notified them that they will no longer use film for there movies by the end of 2013. A digital projector is considered cost prohibited because they get movies like a few weeks after they have already been out in other theatres. they would lose 20% because the upstairs theatre would keep running until they can no longer get film. So when that stops running they will lose people because they cant show as many movies as they would if they had 2 screens going. I think the best thing they could do is announce there problem to the public because if they do maybe people would help fundraise for digital projectors because they wouldnt want the theatre to shut down.
